E. Scott Middlebrooks, M.D.
Welcome to Premier Orthopaedic Surgery!
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself. I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I graduated from Auburn University and went on to graduate from medical school at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, with honors. I received my orthopaedic training at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Following my Orthopaedic Residency I completed at one year Spine Fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. I have been practicing orthopaedics in Atlanta since 1999.
My practice includes a specific focus on the treatment of spinal disorders, including problems of the neck and lower back. I have received training in the most advanced treatments for these often debilitating problems. From the latest minimally invasive treatment utilizing small incisions and magnification to leading-edge technology such as bone graft substitutes and even disc replacement, I strive to provide my patients with the best care possible to afford them the most complete recovery possible.
I enjoy a diverse patient experience here at Premier Orthopaedics. I take pleasure in treating patients of most any age. My general orthopaedic practice includes an interest in joint replacement which affords many patients the opportunity to return to a pain-free way of life. I also have extensive experience in treating difficult and complex fractures where I have the satisfaction of helping patients with severe injuries return to a productive lifestyle.
I make every effort to treat my patients as I would like to be treated personally. Many orthopaedic problems can be managed without surgery. I have committed myself to providing my patients with the most appropriate non-operative care possible prior to going forward with surgery whenever feasible. By presenting patients with all the treatment options available I believe that together we can come up with the best individualized plan possible for each situation.
I am often asked “What is the difference between a neurosurgeon and an orthopaedic spinal surgeon?” A neurosurgeon operates on the brain and spine while and orthopaedic surgeon operates on the bones, muscles and nerves of the limbs and the spine. There is quite a bit of overlap between the two specialties and we perform very similar operations on the spine. As an orthopaedic spine surgeon I am committed to continuing my education and training to offer you the most advanced options for treatment.
I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,
E. Scott Middlebrooks, M.D.
